What is the difference between a martingale collar and buckle collar?
What are the sizes of your collars?
- Extra Small: 8-12" (available on select products only, as specified)
- Small: 10-14"
- Medium: 13-17"
- Large: 16-20"
- X-Large: 19-23"
- XX-Large: 22-26" (leave us a note at check-out to make your collar an XXL or bigger, no extra charge)
What size of collar should I get my dog?
If you have questions about sizing, please send me a message prior to ordering. I can also create custom size ranges if you have a growing pup.
What are your collars & leashes made from?
TUNDRA and LakeLife Collars are made from sublimated polyester webbing. All hardware is welded or cast, and made from stainless steel, zinc alloy, nickel plated steel, or solid brass. We use military grade plastic buckles on all of our dog collars.
Leashes are made from the same sublimated polyester webbing, with your choice of a trigger or bolt snap clasp.
How do I care for my collar? Can I wash it?
Collar care is important to extend the life of your collar! Rinsing your collar under cool water can remove dust and dirt from the surface of your collar. For thorough washing, please use a gentle detergent (no bleach), and wash in cold water. For major stains, we recommend soaking in a powdered detergent and rinsing well. Use a soft bristle brush to really get in there!
Other tips to extend the life of your collar? We suggest removing your dog's collar while your dog is indoors. Natural oils produced by your dog's coat can dirty the collar and may cause colours to fade overtime. Our products use sublimated polyester webbing, which has a slower colour-fade rate than cotton fabrics. Despite this, all materials fade over time which is an expected outcome of well-loved collars and leashes. This is not the fault of Lewis & Clark Collar Co. and refunds will not be given due to fading or wear of the collar.
Can I use my collar to tie my dog out outside?
Lewis & Clark Collar Co. products are not intended for tie-outs or for tying your dog up outdoors. Do not use our products for this purpose. This poses safety risks to your dog, and may compromise the integrity of your collar or leash if your dog sees a squirrel or other interesting creature. We recommend using harnesses for tie-outs, supervising your dog closely, or allowing your dog to explore fenced in and secure areas.
Where else can I buy your collars, other than online?
While Hip Pooch has a limited selection of collars, we are currently focused on our online presence at this time.
Do you offer wholesale, consignment, or drop-shipping arrangements?
We are not currently accepting wholesale applications.
Can I buy my own fabric/have you source a custom fabric and have you make a collar/leash from it?
Sorry - as fun as this is, I do not have the operational capacity to offer this service at this time.
Would you donate a prize to my wedding social?
Thank you for your desire to support local! I do not provide donations to wedding socials unless we are personal friends. If you would like to use one of my products in your social prize packages, please purchase the item directly.
Do you offer local pick-up within Winnipeg?
We do not offer local pick-up or delivery at this time; all orders are shipped through Canada Post.
